While the late Sansha Kuvakei indeed did meddle with technology that would ôcreate men with the thoroughness of a computer and the ingenuity of humansö. We do not hold that expertise within our corporate ranks but am merely acting on behalf of our client. Since our client has requested the information classified and have taken steps to keep his/hers identity hidden we cannot give out any detailed research or technology information at present time.
Our ETP (Enterprise Transparency Politics) is on the other hand another question. You and everybody else interested in our whereabouts and doings will be able to follow our collection campaigns through this thread. It will contain interesting research entries, collection evaluations and upcoming campaigns.
Thank you /Jonathan Swift

Originally by: Yarod Cool Well, congrats on finding something to do other than try to start rebellions.
- Thank you Yarod - fredom will always be in our hearts whereever and whatever we do, so dont get your hopes up.
Originally by: Yarod Cool Are you guys who I think you are? This sounds like a shady business, so I guess you must be.
- I would have expected nothing more sophisticated from the Initiative.

Lonetrek collection campaign. Combat log entry 142:
After endless hours of scanning, scouting and material research I finally pinned down a suitable target to fit our clientÆs needs on the command units. The biomass was sitting at a safe spot near the station. Those Ishtars pilots are good objects. Really want to collect the biomass piloting a sophisticated ship as that but who is it? The ishtar pilot apparently have some wits, he renamed his ship and with 20 pilots in the local chat channel its impossible to put a face on the material waiting to be collected. Undocking the battle ship. The Dominix should be sufficient û my cost efficient favourite. Dropping the scan probes and boom! û First try a precise hit, what a great day it is today. All I have to do is warp there and get it over with. But wait, I need a web, just in case. Establishing contact with the docking manager, heÆs not happy about me coming and going like this. He mumbles something about an extra fee before opening the docking point. Well inside I hurry to refit and hit the undock. The manager stays silent but opens the undocking point letting me back out into space. Clearly heÆs not happy about my multiple un- and redocking requests. I got to remember to share some of my spiced wine with the guy next time I have some spare time. The scan result is gone now and I drop another probe. It takes me 3 rounds to get a precise hit and I align and warp of for the short and successful battle. Or, so I thought. With my Sensor boosters active and damage control ready I land on top of the unsuspecting Ishtar û initiating target lock deploying heavy drones and activating warp disruptor and webifier while approaching our clients new toy. It all happens within seconds and I sit back feeling good about myself û what can possible go wrong now. The lock signal pings in and all the modules go active on the target û this is great! I can feel the bottle of spiced vine mixing with the adrenaline in my veins, its wonderful sensation - I activate my neutralizers on the target, and give the order for the crew to take care of the rest, as I get ready to relax and watch the spectacular fireworks about to come. But alas - the scanner now informs me about new ships in the neighbourhood. Curse and Myrmidon. What else is; the Ishtar doesnÆt seem to take any damage on his shields?? It should have been well into armor by now, whatÆs going on? Goddamn drones!! Do you have to tell them everything! Thinking of all what mankind have accomplished, it is almost unbearable to see the complete lack of effective AI implemented in those bad-mannered and mindless creations! I have to do something û the curse and the myrmidon can be here any second now! |

Lonetrek collection campaign. Combat log entry 142 part 2: The spiced vine and the adrenaline in my veins turn on me, and the sensation of panic and close combat vomiting creeps up through my spine. This is not how I planned it! OK CALM DOWN! First thing first. Giving the engage order to those traitors out there while activating all resistances. I am geared up - now bring it in. The Curse lands a good 20 k out and I activate lock, I just need one bad cycle from his side. Come on Fortuna, shine on me! DAMMIT he got me. I am rendered completely helpless in my big stupid sluggish vessel in the midst of space. The Ishtar gains momentum and slips out of webifier range while its drones tear into my armor. This is unacceptable; I will not go down like this! AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOOD; WHY HASNÆT THAT ISHTAR TAKEN ANY ARMOR DAMAGE YET û The myrmidon is in range? Yes it is in range û ohhhh yes! I activate my lock while getting ready to chew on him big time. With the last drone incident clear in my memory I give the order to engage to those annoying vessels out there. But again nothing happens û what is wrong with those bots! I am halfway into my armor now and my drones are still not responding to my instructions. I open my local drone survey and realises to my horror that it is not the drones fault, itÆs my own drunk stupidity that have caused this horrible situation. 1 hobgoblin and 4 sentry drones is showing up on my interface. My good this is stupid! Giving the order to scoop all, and redeploying my trusted heavies. Now we are talking û the Mymidon is rapidly thrown into armor and the drones keeps chewing huge chunks of him. But sadly it is to late. My capacitor boosters are running low and my armor repair units are overheated to the brim of destruction. The Myrmidon recieves a last round of fire and disintegrates into void. I cannot get a lock on any of the remaining vessels and the last capacitor booster disappears from the stockpile. Drones are swarming all over me now and with a clear mind, and a certain light-headedness caused by the vine and the adrenaline, I sit back and embrace my faith. The day started as a normal day at the office û another day of collecting biomass. Now all the sudden I am redocking my pod while the docking manager sends me a smirking smile. He knew all along didnÆt he? |
